Tang Soo Do is a traditional martial art, therefore we are a form-based martial art system. Our forms are called hyung (형 or 형태) and come from Korea, Japan, Okinawa, and China. From our hyungs (or forms) we learn all the basics of Tang Soo Do. From the hyung, We learn kinesthetic awareness (how long our arms and legs are). We learn how to move our body weight and where our center of gravity is located. The goal this week is to move as smoothly as possible. The hyung teaches patience, diligence, and dedication.
