SOAR Training: Hyungs

Tang Soo Do is a traditional martial art, therefore we are a form-based martial art system. Our forms are called hyung (형 or 형태). From our hyungs (or forms) we learn all the basics of Tang Soo Do. In the gif below, we can see an example from Pyung Ahn Cho Dan. From the hyung, We learn kinesthetic awareness (how long our arms and legs are). We learn how to move our body weight and where our center of gravity is located. The goal this week is to move as smoothly as possible. The hyung teaches patience, diligence, and dedication.

Class Schedule is Mondays & Tuesdays
1730-1800: ages 5-10
1800-1900: ages 10 to Adult
We are now located at the Spirit of Fort Hood Chapel Gym

This week I would also like to introduce bo staff. I encourage you to bring a staff with you. You do not need anything fancy. A staff is is just a long stick. Here is a suggested resource for only $12.
