This week we return to Hyungs.
A form is not finished when we remember the sequence. That is where useful practice begins. Hyung gives us a repeatable structure for examining stance, balance, direction, chamber, power, breathing, focus, and recovery. Because the sequence stays the same, we can see more clearly what changed in our movement.
We will use slow practice to expose position, counted practice to sharpen coordination, and continuous practice to test whether a correction remains when the form moves with purpose. The goal is not simply to reach the last movement. The goal is to finish with technique that is more deliberate and dependable than it was at the start of class.
As you train, ask yourself: Did I look before I turned? Did I place the stance deliberately? Did I complete the chamber before the technique? Did my hips and shoulders support the movement? Did I control the recoil? Did I finish balanced and able to reset immediately?
Beginners will build a reliable map of their assigned Sae Kye Hyung. Intermediate students will refine the direction changes and transitions of their assigned Pyung Ahn Hyung. Advanced and Black Belt students will work on rhythm, intent, interpretation, and rank-appropriate forms.
Bring your dobok and a bottle of water. Students who have been assigned a weapon form should bring the approved practice weapon. Do not bring a live blade or an improvised substitute.
School App Update
Use DojangFlow this week to check your progress and review the material assigned to your rank. All students and parents must be registered so they can track attendance, monitor progress, and complete required written tests. The Learning Center includes rank-based written-test practice, basic Korean study, WTSDA tournament-rule familiarization, and the future administration of rank written tests. Updated Study Guides are under Resources > School Resources.

Weekly Conditioning
This week’s take-home plan uses strength, endurance, integrated mobility, and solo form practice to support stance stability, direction changes, posture, balance, and controlled performance. Use the page for your rank and adjust the physical load to your current readiness.
Practice slowly enough to preserve the correct sequence, stance, technique path, and finish. Complete only forms you have been taught. Use approved practice weapons only in a clear area and only when that weapon form has been assigned.
